Brunch in Bratislava, the French way
Late breakfast the way Brittany does it: a galette with egg and cheese, a sweet crêpe with salted caramel, proper coffee. From 10:00, no reservation needed.
Saint Paul at Fresh Market is a French-style brunch spot — open Monday to Saturday from 10:00. Savoury buckwheat galettes (gluten-free), sweet French crêpes, espresso and Sorre cider.
The savoury half: an egg-topped galette
Brittany’s answer to breakfast eggs: the galette La Complète — ham, cheese and an egg with the yolk left open, wrapped in a crisp buckwheat pancake. The entire savoury menu is naturally gluten-free.
The sweet half: crêpes
Sweet French crêpes with house salted caramel, chocolate, or simply butter and sugar — the dessert every Breton meal ends with. Available in a gluten-free buckwheat version on request.
On the side
Espresso from a good roastery, fresh apple juice, or a glass of cider — in Normandy nobody blinks at cider with a late breakfast. At lunchtime there are also lunch menus from €9.90.

Practical questions
- Until when can I come for brunch?
- We are open Monday – Friday 10:00 – 17:00 and Saturday 10:00 – 16:00. Galettes and sweet crêpes are cooked all day, so “brunch” works at 3 pm too.
- Do I need a reservation?
- No — we are walk-in only, just come. On weekdays the busiest window is 12:00 – 13:00.
- Is the brunch coeliac-friendly?
- Yes. All savoury galettes are 100% buckwheat, naturally gluten-free; sweet crêpes can be made gluten-free on request. We do handle wheat flour in the kitchen — with strict coeliac disease, tell our staff.
- Where do I park and how do I find you?
- We are on the 1st floor of Fresh Market, Rožňavská 1a — parking is right by the market, and a public-transport stop is at the entrance.
- Can I come with kids?
- Of course. A chocolate crêpe is a proven kids’ classic, and the market is well used to families.
